The government says it'll examine the harms drugs do to society as it considers policy changes in future.
The Substance Misuse Steering Group of the Council of Ministers will report to Tynwald this month about a proposed review.
It says it will base its evidence on similar reports from the UK as well as the Island's international treaty and convention obligations.
The group says it'll report back to Tynwald in October with details of how much the review will cost and how long it will take to complete.
