There are no plans to follow UK proposals and increase the length of the school day.
That’s according to the Department of Education and Children which says it will continue to monitor ideas but has no intention of change.
UK Education Secretary Michael Gove has recently announced he’s looking at increasing the school day to 10 hours.
It’s in an effort to get children more involved with extracurricular activities.
