The government has been criticised for having too many people responsible for PR and media.
Onchan MHK Peter Karran raised the issue with the Treasury Minister earlier this week.
There is currently the equivalent of 10 full time staff who deal with media for the nine government departments.
Eddie Teare said the business change steering group is looking at the issue at the moment but says he believes it is justified.
