The Department of Infrastructure says it looks like a 10-day strike by bus drivers will go ahead this Saturday, despite negotiations.
It says Bus Vannin's fifth offer to resolve the dispute was rejected by the union during talks yesterday evening, Thursday, February 19.
The DOI adds Unite the Union then made another proposal and Bus Vannin asked it to delay industrial action while considering it, but this was refused.
A spokesperson for the bus service says it's disappointed industrial action is going ahead, and apologises to customers for the inconvenience.
They add the services is now focused on reducing the impact of the strike on services, and will make an announcement later.
An appeal is also being made for anyone with a a public service vehicle (PSV) licence to get in touch on publictransport@gov.im
