The government's wage bill has risen by almost 31 per cent in the past five years, according to figures from Cabinet Office Minister David Ashford.
He was asked a question for written reply from Douglas North MHK John Wannenburgh about the salary bill for each of the past five years.
Mr Ashford said in 2021 the figure stood at just under £402.5 million - but last year that had risen to almost £527 million.
In his response he said the figures didn't include the Post Office or Manx Utilities.
