Just one in five people who sign up for the Department for Enterprise's TT streaming service pay for the live coverage.
The figures were given in response to a Freedom of Information request about subscriptions to the TT+ service.
In 2022, there were 128,318 freemium users and 57,040 paying members - those figures rose to 393,100 freemium with 81,135 viewers paying the £23.99 this year.
However, the DfE wouldn't release figures about what the service costs to run or where people who use it are from, saying the information was commercially sensitive.
