The government says it's hoping to set the minimum wage for young people above that of the UK.
Earlier this month, the committee which recommends minimum wage levels said young people should get £8.50 an hour - 10p less than their UK counterparts.
However, the Department for Enterprise will ask Tynwald to back £8.75 an hour when the court sits this week.
It'll also ask members to set the adult rate at £11.45 an hour, a penny above the UK's rate.
The department says the rates are interim figures as it considers long-term recommendations.
