Minister without portolio Tim Crookall says setting up an efficiency programme in government to save money will cost more than half a million pounds over the next 14 months.
He faced a question for written reply from Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper about how many projects were planned and how much they'd cost.
Mr Crookall said £535,000 would be needed to get the money-saving project underway.
And he said spending another £1.7 million would save more than £15 million over the next five years.
