The Infrastructure Minister says his department isn't responsible for the Solway Harvester Memorial.
Tim Crookall was asked about it in a Tynwald question for written reply from Douglas North MHK John Wannenburgh.
Mr Crookall said the memorial stone sits on unregistered land on Douglas Head, which hasn't been claimed by any government department.
He added the Solway Harvester Trust takes care of its maintenance.
