Treasury minister Alf Cannan says the government still needs to find another £7.5 million in cuts in the next three years.
In an update on Facebook, he says the current administration is halfway towards its target of reducing spending by £15 million by 2021.
Mr Cannan says a number of ideas have been submitted by the public through a campaign which encouraged people to suggest ways money could be saved.
And he says reforming and shaping public services for the future is vital to ensure value for money and efficient services.
