An MHK has hit out at the government's PR operation, saying a social media post was disrespectful.
A Facebook post on the government's official page said those who'd been detained in the Comis Hotel in Santon at the start of the pandemic could now apply for a refund, two years after they were forced to pay to be quarantined there.
Onchan member Rob Callister criticized the post, which featured a photo of someone smiling as they opened a letter.
He said given the circumstances, people were unlikely to be smiling and the post was poorly written.
Given the circumstances in which the refund is being offered back IOM residents, I don’t think the Manx government should be posting a picture of a lady opening a letter with a big smile on her face - have a little bit of respect, please…. https://t.co/7mbesX5ZBP
