The gas price increase is set to fully impact bills in December, but financial support won't be available until January.
That's according to the Treasury Minister David Ashford, who was responding to questions put forward by MHK Jason Moorhouse in the House of Keys this morning.
There are around 20,000 Manx Gas customers on the Island, with only 4,000 households eligible for support packages.
Manx Gas has confirmed payment plans are available, with residents struggling to afford the increased prices able to spread the cost over the summer months.
