A 27.5 per cent gas price hike has been given the go ahead.
The price rise was approved in Tynwald this afternoon - which Manx Gas says will only allow it to 'break even' on what it's selling locally.
Earlier today, Treasury minister David Ashford announced £1m of extra support will be made available over the Winter.
Those already signed up for the Winter bonus scheme scheme will get an extra £100 lump sum.
Meanwhile, those on income support - who don't qualify for the payment will get a standalone payment of £100 - with some extra cash available for those living just above that level.
It passed in the House of Keys with 22 votes for two against.
