An MHK who served with the Office of Fair Trading says Isle of Man Energy saw its customers as "cash generators" and planned mass disconnections before it was stopped by new laws.
Douglas North MHK John Wannenburgh was speaking during Tynwald questions this week, when the issue of disconnections was raised.
The former Office of Fair Trading chairman objected after one member said they wanted to thank the company for its help.
He told the court his experience of Isle of Man Energy had been very different when he was at the OFT:
