There further calls for Sarah's Law to be introduced on the Isle of Man.

The call comes following a recent attack on an 8 year old girl in her home by a known sex offender on the sex offender register.

Sarah's Law has been rolled out in the UK, it allows controlled access to the Sex Offenders Register.

MHK Bill Henderson who has been battling to introduce the law says action needs to be taken to protect the Islands children.

Mr Henderson stated 'This was a particularly nasty incident where a known sex offender abused his position of trust, and the fact it is reported that it was only recently he was cautioned for a similar offence. This is exactly and precisely why I want 'Sarah’s Law' brought in to the Isle of Man. And it’s why Nichola Cherrie is campaigning with me by gathering an all Island petition and running an on line campaign.'

Minister for Home Affair Adrian Earnshaw was last month handed a petition with thousands of signatures campaigning for the law to be brought it. He said the system they have in place does work but he is willing to bring forward the review date for Sarah's Law on the Isle of Man.

Bill Henderson says the Department of Home Affairs need to 'pull their socks up' and listen to common sense and better protect the community.
