Funeral for Much Loved Jamie Held This Afternoon in Onchan
The funeral of Jamie Haslett, the Manx student who died last week in Sheffield, will be held this afternoon.
He was killed when a police patrol car accompanying an ambulance collided with him, he died at the scene.
19-year-old Jamie was in his second year studying Sport and Business Management at Sheffield Hallam University.
He was regarded as an immensely popular individual on the Island, and a keen sportsman.
3FM have been speaking to numerous key people in Jamie's life who have wanted to pay tribute to him, Geoff Corke was his Head of 6th Form at St Ninian's, he described him as a 'happy go lucky cheerful young man, who bought a lot of fun and enjoyment to all who knew him.'
His former Deputy Head Teacher Maggie Jakeman said he was a 'fine young man'.
The funeral will be held at 1.30 at St Peters Church in Onchan.
