The Island's Commonwealth Games Association has already been forced to start fundraising for next year's event to cover spiraling costs.
It's thought the squad going to Glasgow will be the strongest ever assembled from the Isle of Man, with the cycling team already tipped for gold.
However, this is coming at a six-figure cost and the association has to find all the funding itself.
This year's series of charity events begins on St Patrick's Day next month with the Manx Superstars challenge.
