A fundraising event will held tonight (Saturday) for a Peel man who’s being treated in the UK for life-threatening head injuries.
Father-of-three Darryl McGeown, 33, is currently at the Walton Centre in Merseyside, where he’s set to spend Christmas.
Darryl is a motorcycle rider who competes in the Manx Grand Prix and also plays rugby for Western Vikings.
His team-mates are holding an event at the Creek Inn in Peel to raise money to help his family pay for travel and accommodation so they can be at his bedside.
Fellow rugby players will be collecting cash in buckets and well-wishers have also donated several thousands pounds' worth of raffle prizes.
