The Department of Infrastructure says the Mountain Road will be closed until this afternoon.
It's imposed an emergency road closure from the Ramsey Hairpin to the Creg ny Baa.
It says its workers are currently cleaning up a fuel spill on the route.
As a result, it's expected to reopen at around 1pm.
