Ronaldsway Met Office says the yellow warning will now remain in place until 6am on Tuesday.
Forecasters say clear skies are expected this evening which could see road temperatures drop below zero leading to hoar frost on untreated highways.
Icy patches may also form in areas which remain wet due to water seeping onto them.
