Foxdale Heritage is asking for planning permission to put up an ‘interpretation’ sign in a field.
The group wants to put it in a privately owned field, saying the landowner supports the charity’s initiative and has offered to help install it.
The proposed sign would be one of ten around the village and have information about social and architectural history with particular reference to Foxdale’s mining past.
Another sign could also be installed in the same field, at the railway station heritage centre and the church.
The application is currently pending consideration.
