Villagers in Upper Foxdale have asked Patrick Commissioners whether they can take over a small part of the community.
A group of residents want to manage the small corner area at the turn into the Mines Road, where the Millennium Stone is placed.
They want to use the small space to put Christmas trees up during the holiday season, and decorate the village throughout the rest of the year.
The proposal was discussed this week (14 Jan) at a meeting of Patrick Commissioners, who have responsibility for the area.
Members of the local authority have agreed to meet the group to discuss a pilot scheme, but appeared happy with the proposal.
