Former MHK to make council bid

A former MHK who lost his seat at the General Election has confirmed he's standing to be a Douglas councillor.

Douglas East representative Jon Joughin came third in September's count - he was just seven votes behind second place Chris Robertshaw.

He'll stand for Victoria Ward in the bye-election which will take place on November 3rd.

The vacancy has been sparked by David Ashford's elevation to the House of Keys - he was elected to represent Douglas North for the next five years.
