Planning permission has been granted for a multi-purpose development at the site of the former Marine Biological Station in Port Erin.
The decision went against officers’ recommendation to refuse the application, after each of the reasons were resolved.
After much deliberation, the planning committee unanimously agreed while the scale of the design is far from ideal, the development would make good use of the brown field site which has become an unsafe eyesore.
The developer, Delgatie, say they hope work can commence this autumn; company director William Smedley, is pleased with the result:
