Former chief minister Tony Brown has taken up the reins at Castletown Commissioners.
Last night, the newly-elected board met to elect a new chairman and vice-chairman.
Tony Brown OBE was appointed as the local authority's chairman, with John Cringle elected as vice-chairman.
The board says its next public meeting will take place on Monday, June 2.
