Food poverty is a complex area with multiple causes, according to the Chief Minister.
In Tynwald this week Howard Quayle was questioned about the increased demand on the facility, focusing specifically on children throughout the school holidays.
He said the Island doesn't have 'so-called budget supermarkets' to help those on a low income with the price of food.
He added those who rely on free school meals during term time may struggle to provide meals during the holidays.
