The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture says it has just 20 bedsit buildings on the Island registered with it.
A Freedom of Information request asked how many registrations there are for Houses in Multiple Occupation, or HMOs, and where they are.
DEFA says there are 20 registrations with a total of 210 rooms on the Island - although some of those are for more than one person.
