Introducing a Freedom of Information act on the Isle of Man could cost half a million pounds
That’s according to the Chief Minister who says the Island only has one chance to get this legislation right.
Current estimates show it would cost £500,000 to implement the act and a further £500,000 each year to operate.
Allan Bell says he has committed to introducing the legislation but care must be taken to ensure the tax payer isn’t burdened with unnecessary expense.
He says it needs careful consideration:
TT food van needed for trackside car park
Northern roadworks to hinge on Mountain Road reopening
Beer festival to return this week
Dublin to sign friendship agreement with Douglas in summer
Total of 35 properties on council's dilapidated list
Equipment being sold off from popular former bar
Council to object to Summerland site plans
