First stage will cost £130,000
Work has commenced this week on the regeneration of Ramsey Town.
The builders started yesterday on the first phase of the major works which will endeavour to greatly improve the appearance of Ramsey.
Phase one will see improvements made to Old Post Office, Old Courier and Collins Lane, the £130,000 needed for the first stages were secured by the Department of Infrastructure.
To begin with new surfacing materials are being laid along the Old Post Office Lane, they’re said to be of a higher quality, easier to clean and far more attractive than the current surfaces.
The funding is also being used to improve pedestrian access between the town centre and the public parking on West Quay.
Planning applications have now been submitted for the regeneration of the Courthouse and Market Place.
