The first Premier Inn hotel on the Isle of Man has been officially opened.
Located on Market Street in Douglas the 85-bedroom facility and Thyme restaurant was unveiled by Enterprise Minister, Laurence Skelly MHK, and Managing Director of Premier Inn UK, Simon Ewins, at a ceremony yesterday.
The six-storey complex was developed by Island company Dandara and was handed over to Premier Inn's parent company, Whitbread, last month.
35 new jobs have been created there, with the new staff set to benefit from Whitbread's training programme, ongoing apprenticeship and career advancement opportunities.
