The first volunteer event for a new river clean-up group is taking place this weekend.
River Buddies, which is linked to local charity Beach Buddies, is meeting on the banks of Douglas River near the Nunnery to clean up any rubbish.
Access to the river is not advised this time of year during the migratory fish spawning months, so volunteers will keep to the banks.
Anyone interested is asked to meet on the access road leading to the amenity site at 10:30am.
