A toaster sparked an emergency service callout in Douglas last night.
Fire crews were called to a flat in Tynwald Street at around 8pm.
A toaster had been left on a hob, which caught light after the ring was turned on - fortunately, a smoke alarm alerted the householder who used a fire blanket to smother the blaze.
Firefighters cleared the flat of smoke.
