The Fire and Rescue Service says it dealt with two incidents over the weekend.
On 4am this Sunday, February 8, crews from Douglas say they tackled a severe fire in the garage of a house in Birch Hill in Onchan.
The emergency service says all occupants had escaped, and the blaze was contained to the garage with only minor smoke damage to the house.
It adds this was helped by the internal doors being kept shut.
The earlier incident involved firefighters dealing with a faulty boiler setting off a carbon monoxide alarm in a house in Westhill Avenue in Castletown, late Saturday night.
The Fire and Rescue Service points out CO detectors should be fitted in all rooms with fuel burning appliances, and boilers regularly and professionally maintained.
