Firefighters were called to a house in the west of the Island yesterday after a carbon monoxide alarm sounded.
The incident happened at around 6pm in a home at Cronk y Voddy.
Fire crews discovered thick black smoke coming from a flue and switched off the oil supply before ventilating the property.
Firefighters say nobody was hurt and they spent around 40 minutes dealing with the incident.
