Fire crews rescued a householder during a fire in Douglas yesterday.
The cooker blaze broke out at around 3.30pm in Thomas Keig Road, and three crews from Douglas Fire Station were called to the scene.
One person was inside the front room, and had be to helped out by firefighters in breathing apparatus.
A quick-thinking neighbour shut doors and turned off power before the emergency services arrived - their actions meant smoke damage was confined the kitchen.
