Douglas fire crews were called out last night to deal with an unattended substantial fire.
The Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service says on Facebook that people who start a bonfire should have someone stay with the fire until it is out and to alert the Emergency Services Joint Control Room about the event.
Shortly after this incident, fire crews were called to an activated fire alarm in a block of flats which had been set off by burnt food.
The organisation says incidents 'such as this' tie up valuable resources and have the potential to delay responses to other emergencies.
