Police were called out this morning to reports of a disturbance on Albert Road in Ramsey.
Officers from the Tactical Firearms Unit were sent to help arrest a suspect.
The Isle of Man Constabulary says this was an isolated incident and the public were not at any risk.
It says an investigation is now underway and any witnesses should contact police headquarters on 631212 quoting reference 97/4048/25.
