The Island's Fire and Rescue service is asking people to be careful lighting fires in plantations and woodland.
A photo released by firefighters shows a campfire which had been lit in Slieu Whallian Plantation.
The service says although it looks well set and controlled, flames can spread extremely quickly with so much undergrowth around in summer months.
And it adds blazes in woodland can have a devastating effect on wildlife and the surrounding environment.
