Fire crews from Douglas rescued a person trapped in a burning flat on Peel Road.
The service was called to the incident last night and was faced with smoke coming out of the front of the property, and flames coming from the back.
The team rescued one casualty by ladder from an upper floor window, with the Ambulance Service giving first aid to those involved - no serious injuries were reported.
Several animals were also rescued, with some needing to be given oxygen.
The Fire Service says this incident highlights the importance of smoke alarms, as they give an early warning and save lives.
