Douglas Fire crews were called to an incident at the Gas site on Battery Pier yesterday morning.
They responded to reports of the fire alarm sounding.
According to Station Officer Brian Quirk, crews were met by staff on the scene who had found the cause to be a mechanical fault on the alarm system.
He added that the problem was 'rectified quickly' and the fire service was in attendance for around 15 minutes.
