A warning has gone out to the Manx public to ensure that they have fully functioning fire alarms fitted in their home.
There have been an increasing number of call outs where it later transpired that the fire alarm in the house was faulty.
Fire Safety Officer Carl Kinvig spoke to 3FM to get the message across, he said in his experience it can even be the difference between making it out, and not.
He said ideally you should check your alarm is working at least once a week.
