Fire crews were called into action last night after a large gorse fire.
Two appliances from Peel and back up engines from Douglas and Kirk Michael attended the incident at around 5.30pm.
The fire had started 250 metres from the road, in the area of White Strand on the Ramsey Road in Peel.
A water relay was put in place to transfer water from the main road, across the terrain and to the fire.
The Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service has praised firefighters for bringing the blaze under control in ‘difficult conditions’.
