Fire crews from Douglas have worked throughout Friday night into this morning to extinguish a fire in Santon.
Douglas crews were called out at 2.40pm yesterday to put-out a fire in the waste pit of the Energy from waste plant on Richmond Hill.
The fire was contained to one side of the pit, however due to the fire being deep routed, one fire engine has remained in attendance throughout the night working with Energy from waste plant staff, who have continued to turn over the fire and dampen it down with water.
Crews left at around 7am this morning.
