Firefighters in Douglas were called to a hotel in Douglas last night when fire broke out in a bedroom.
The incident happened shortly before midnight on Mona Drive after a smoke alarm alerted residents, who evacuated safely.
Clothes hanging on a door had caught light because of a candle and residents managed to put out the flames before fire crews arrived.
One resident had to be treated for the effects of smoke.
The Fire and Rescue Service says a number of occupants failed to evacuate when the alarm sounded - they're reminding people to pay heed to alarms.
