A man who almost ran over a police officer trying to stop him has been fined a total of £800.
At Douglas Courthouse last week, Ryan Stevens of Creg Willeyes Hill in St Johns admitted three offences, all committed on April 10 last year.
The 22 year old pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention, failing to stop for a police officer and having a car in a dangerous and unroadworthy condition.
Magistrates heard he’d been driving a blue Ford Fiesta down Kewaigue Hill when police carrying out speed checks tried to pull him over.
However, he didn’t stop - shrugging at an officer who had to run out of the road to avoid being run over.
He was fined a total of £800, ordered to pay £50 costs and had his licence endorsed with six points.
