A Douglas man who was arrested whilst he was in the process of making an abusive phone call to the Emergency Services Joint Control Room has been fined.
23-year-old Sean Peter Maunders, of Osbourne Grove, was stopped by police on Groves Road at 4.20am on Monday.
After being arrested due to his abusive and aggressive demeanour he was taken to Police Headquarters - on the way his behaviour was said to "escalate" and he began banging his head against the van.
He also told officers "I'm going to smash your faces in when I get out" - at Douglas Courthouse this week he admitted being drunk and disorderly on April 3rd.
His advocate told the court it was an "unfortunate set of circumstances" saying he was engaging with psychiatric services.
Sentencing Maunders Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes told him "you brought the police's attention on yourself" - she fined him £200 and ordered him to pay £125 in prosecution costs.
A six month licensing ban was also imposed.
