Fine for man who hurled abuse at police officer

Douglas Courthouse

A Douglas man who got drunk and hurled a range of obscenities at a police officer has been fined more than £500.

39-year-old Christopher Scott was unable to stand unaided when he was found in Barrack Street at 6.15pm on September 17th.

Scott admitted being drunk and disorderly at Douglas Courthouse earlier this week - his advocate said he was at a "low point" at the time and had a "hazy" recollection of the events.

Sentencing him Deputy High Bailiff told him she hoped it was "a blip" - she fined him and ordered him to pay prosecution costs.
