More than 2,300 potential cases of financial crime were reported to the Isle of Man Constabulary last year.
The Department of Home Affairs say figures from the last five years show it's a 'different environment' than that of 15-20 years ago.
In 2011 there were 3432 cases dealt with and 2325 in 2012 – however it’s not the case that each case represents a suspected crime.
Cases include enquiries on behalf of other jurisdictions, drug trafficking investigations and serious fraud and money laundering issues.
