Film industry faces further scrutiny

The controversial deal between the Isle of Man Government and Pinewood Film Studios is once again dominating Tynwald questions.

Today Treasury Minister Eddie Teare is facing seven questions on the agreement which have all been tabled by South Douglas MHK Kate Beecroft.

She wants to know more about the workings of the deal including who the directors of the company "Pinewood Film Advisors” are and why the company will receive revenue from the Island’s existing library of films.

Mr Teare will also be asked if he is satisfied with his decision to be responsible for the due diligence in respect of Pinewood Shepperton and whether he can give assurances that further shares have not been, and will not be, purchased using government investment.
