A peregrine falcon has been rescued from a Manx beach after being found "caked in cooking oil".
Anyone with information about how a wild bird became covered in cooking oil is being asked to get in touch with the Manx government.
It comes after a female peregrine falcon was found on Port Grenaugh beach.
Manx Wild Bird Aid said the young bird was unable to fly due to being "caked in oil", but after being washed, is now "on the road to recovery".
A spokesman added: "We have no idea how she ended up like this, but she’s looking much better after being washed.
"Washing a very angry and uncooperative female peregrine is no easy feat, but it has to be done!
"Once we get all of the oil out of her feathers she will be released".
